How to file the Grievance for the Income Tax Refund Status?

  1. Login to your Account on Income Tax e-filing portal.
  2. Now, go to the “Helpdesk” link. Now, from the drop menu, click on “Submit Grievance”. However, other option available will be Grievance Query which will be used to check the status of your Grievance.

My Refund is generated by direct credit mode but it is failed. What should I do?

The main reason your Refund failure are listed below:

  • The Account is being deactivated
  • All the operations on the account are stopped.
  • The Account is basically a fixed deposit/Loan/Public Provident Fund (Account)
  • It is an NRI Account.
  • The Account is passed away.

  • If you have applied for the Income Tax Refund physically, then you have to provide a valid account number and IFSC/ MICR code to the respective assessing officer. As soon as your details will be updated by the Officer, and he will then initiate the refund request.
